Below is the English translation of the Candy Candy Final Story: Part I. Our translation is accompanied by footnotes for clarifications, as well as specific clues within the story that show Terry is Anohito in the story’s new ending.
The translation was made by professional translators retained by the Terry’s Angels.:
Ms. Hanabi Ito, who studied at university in the United States, and currently resides in the USA.
Ms. Riho Okumura, who is Japanese is resides with her Scottish husband in Japan.
We chose Hanabi and Riho because they are both native Japanese speakers with excellent command in English. They are from a younger generation, and have never watched the CC anime, or read the CC manga or any previously published CC novels. Therefore, they are bot impartial translators whose translations contain no bias.
The translation of Part I is still a work in progress. Some chapters have not yet been translated. We will try to continue to translate the entire story in time.

Hi,
Firstly, I think it is fantastic that someone took it in their own hands to translate “Candy Candy the Final Story” in English.
Secondly, I do not understand how part two is completed when part one still needs some chapters.
I would love to read it when it is finished.
I watched the show as a kid (sometimes still do), and it is one of my favorite anime series.
Unfortunately, I never got to read the manga version hence it is not to be found in English.
Hi Helle, thank you for your comment and sorry for the late reply. We’re glad you enjoy our site. To your question why we translated Part 2 before Part 1: when we began our translations, we didn’t intend on translating the whole book. Paying for a professional translator is very expensive. Other English translations you might see online are all fan translations and their accuracies are questionable, especially the details. Our site is for CC fans who are also mainly Terry fans. Initially, we only planned to translate the new parts Nagita added to the story that relate directly to “Anohito” and Terry, so that fans can see what was written rather than passing around rumors. After we translated those, one of the Terry Angels (the team behind this site) decided to pay out of her own pocket to translate all parts relating to Terry. When those parts were translated, they were posted on this site to share with Terry fans. Thereafter, we decided we can chip in money to slowly translate the remainder of CCFS. The cost is still bore by mainly two fans who are Terry’s Angels. Since early chapters of Part I relates mainly to Anthony, there are no controversies within the fandom or intentional misinterpretations and mis-translations the we feel need urgent clarifications.
In short, this did not begin as a project to translate the entire CCFS. But we decided to go the distance after we translated the parts we planned to translate to dispel erroneous rumors about Terry or who is Anohito. Translating the remainder is more a fan service, and only when we are able to afford to pay the translators. 🙂
As for the English version of the manga, there are some manga sites online that have it. The translation is not official but is from a fan group translation project done a long time ago. The manga being online is probably also a copyright violation, but it doesn’t seem like the original manga publisher is pursuing the issue. Here’s a link to one of the sites online with a copy: https://www.mangatown.com/manga/candy_candy/
