Are you a fan of Candy and Terry?

Have you been wishing for them to be together again for many, many years?

If yes, you have come to the right place. This website is dedicated to Candy White and Terry Grandchester, our beloved favorite couple from the shoujo story Candy Candy.

For those of you who grew up watching the Candy Candy anime or reading the Candy Candy manga in the late 1970s and early 1980s, you will recall that when the manga/anime ended, Terry and Candy were brutally separated because of the manipulative and pathetic Susanna Marlowe.

Their painful break up devastated all their fans. We’ve wondered since then if Candy and Terry, who were so meant to be with each other, had truly parted ways forever.

Thankfully, after decades of inerasable sadness in our hearts, Keiko Nagita, the author of Candy Candy (who had written this story in the 1970s under the pen name Kyoko Mizuki), finally breathed new life into what we feared was over. For those of you who don’t know, in 2010, Nagita released a new, revised version of the story Candy Candy in the form of novels in two volumes. The novel set is titled Candy Candy Final Story (CCFS). It is an updated version of the story written in novel format for adults, unlike the previous novel formats published in 1978-79 which were targeted for a children audience.

According to Nagita, the story as written back in the 1970s had been tainted by certain plots and deails which other third parties had imposed upon her. These third parties include Yumiko Igarashi, the manga artist for Candy Candy, and certain members of the manga publisher and editorial staff. The anime version broadcasted by Toei also included many parts that were not originally written by her. At Livre Paris 2019, she even said that she never watched the anime, because it had numerous plot changes and was not her story. In writing CCFS, Nagita took it upon herself to tell the story as she truly meant for it to be told, and to write the story in more mature language target to adults as well.

To that end, Nagita made numerous small but important revisions and edits to the text and language of the novels. The novel set also includes new parts, with never-before-told new details. One of the most shocking and important details is that Susanna Marlow is dead!!

And thereafter, Terry wrote a letter to Candy, telling her that for him, “nothing has changed”!!

In CCFS, Nagita also gave us a new finale. In this version, Candy is now a woman in her thirties. She lives with “that person” (Anohito) in England near the Avon River, where scent of daffodils filled the air and surrounded her house. The story ends with “that person” coming home, and Candy running into his arms.

Since its publication in 2010, CCFS has been translated and published in Italian and French. We’ve also been told by Nagita’s Japanese agent that a Spanish edition is in the works. For all of us who have read CCFS from front to back, dissecting every word and detail, we have concluded without a doubt that Anohito is Terry.

For those of you who are just now rediscovering Candy Candy, you may occasionally stumble upon other websites that go to great lengths to argue that Anohito is actually someone else. Unfortunately, there are readers out there who would prefer that Candy and Terry remain heartbroken, longing for each other till the end of time. But don’t let what they say throw you into despair, because they are  . . .

On this site, we will show you why the arguments of those readers are without merits. We will give you all the information you need to know, so that your mind will be at peace knowing that our favorite CC couple is together again, now and forever.

So come on in. This is the ultimate place for Candy and Terry fans to gather and discuss with among ourselves everything Candy Candy, to celebrate Candy and Terry, and their unforgettable love story.
