A two-part interview with CC author Keiko Nagita in 2005 in the magazine Children’s Literature, published by Japan Children’s Writers Association (児童文学協会).  This is a bi-monthly magazine. Part 1 of the interview was published in the October-November edition, and Part II was published in the December-January edition. These issues of the magazine are no longer in print. But when we reached out to the publisher, they kindly sent us a PDF copy.

We’re now delighted to provide the English translation of the interview. Scroll down to the bottom for the image copies of the pages where the interview appeared in the magazine.

We want to highlight also that Nagita’s answer to one of the interviewer’s questions is VERY intriguing!!

── Do you create a boy based on projecting your ideals of, I wish there was a person like this?

KN : Well, that’s not the case. I don’t have anyone particular whether there is someone like a certain type of person. There may be the type I like, but I’m a woman so maybe I’m soft on guys, but I don’t think only princes and people like them are attractive.
